Carol Zenobia Steele: Dec. 10, 1943-Sept. 18, 2017

Carol Zenobia Steele was born on Dec. 10, 1943 in Anacortes, Wash. to William Steele and Margaret Jacobson.

As the daughter of a military family, she moved about spending extensive time in Tennessee and Newfoundland before returning to Anacortes where she graduated high school in 1962.

Carol married and settled in Bellingham, Wash. There she raised her family and lived until her retirement from Arco Cherry Point Refinery in the 1990s. Carol’s retirement years were spent in Langley, Wash., where she enjoyed the outdoors, the slower paced lifestyle, her weekly bible study fellowship group and the many kind-hearted people residing in this island community.

Carol will be remembered for her kind and giving heart, her thoughtful conversations and her infectious love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Carol is survived by her daughter Leigh Zahn of Sammamish, Wash., her son Brett Thorsteinson, of Long Beach, Calif. and their spouses Bob Zahn and Simona Thorsteinson. She is also survived by her grandchildren Noah Zahn, Payton Zahn, Tyler Thorsteinson and Siena Thorsteinson.

A service will be held in her memory at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 6 at the South Whidbey Community Church, located at The Grange, 5142 Bayview Road, Langley, WA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice. Please sign the Book of Memories, light a candle and leave your condolences for the family at www.JernsFH.com
