Charles D Walter: October 7, 1973 – September 7, 2021

Charles D Walter, 47, passed away after a 4 year battle with ALS. He held on until his family surrounded him.

Chuck was born in Torrance, CA and lived in California until his family moved to Washington in 1978. His family then moved to Oak Harbor in 1981. He graduated from Oak Harbor High School in 1991 and then went on to attend Bates Technical College where he successfully completed the Fire Service Program. Chuck was a painting contractor and had his own business, C.W. Painting, for many years until he has to retire due to his ALS diagnosis in 2018.

Loved ones that will miss Chuck until they meet again are his wife Wendy, together just shy of 27 years. Their four children, Elizabeth Walter, Samantha Walter, Colby Walter, Cian Walter and his step-brother Randy Walter, his parents, Carmel and Bob Walter along with relatives and friends.

Chuck was very active and had a enthusiastic and infectious passion for dirt bikes, snowboarding, music and art. He also enjoyed camping, wake/skate/paddle-boarding. He loved sharing these adventures with his family and friends. Chuck gave 100% in everything he did. He lived by his favorite motto, “Anything worth doing is worth doing well”.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Chuck on Saturday, October 2, 2021.

-Interment will be held at 10:30 a.m. at Maple Leaf Cemetery located at 1961 NE 16th Ave., Oak Harbor.

-Service will follow and be held at 12:00 p.m. at Wallin-Stucky Funeral Home located at 1811 NE 16th Ave., Oak Harbor with a reception immediately following.
