Elizabeth Kershaw: Sept. 18, 1932 – May 4, 2017

Elizabeth Kershaw was born in Boston in 1932. She graduated from St. Anne’s Episcopal School and Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing, attaining her RN. She also attended Boston University.

Liz married and raised three daughters in the Boston area; Elisabeth (Will Lupo), Karen Anne (Clay Pinney) and Katherine. She also had four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her nursing career, Liz participated in community and church activities including serving on the board of the Town Council on Aging and the Diocesan Committee of the National Cathedral.

In 1992, Liz moved to Whidbey Island to be near family. She was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels, WICA, Meerkerk Gardens, Whidbey General Hospital and also served as a state ombudsman at Careage.

Liz was a member of St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church in Freeland and served on the vestry, the worship, the stewardship, and the pastoral care committee and as a wedding coordinator. Additionally, Liz was the directress of the altar guild and a lay Episcopal minister and felt blessed to be a part of this very special community.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 24 at St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church in Freeland.
