Kathryn Muzzy

Kathryn Phillipa Kaiping Muzzy, or “Kitty” as she was known to friends and family, passed away quietly while sleeping on Nov. 21, 2005 in Valmiera, Latvia, where she lived for the last two years.

Born on June 12, 1917, Kitty was 88 years old and is survived by two daughters Kathy Waycaster (Clark) and Kriss Muzzy-Zamelis (Zee); one son, Rick Muzzy (Barb); four grandchildren, Jeremy, Jason, Kali and Ricky Muzzy; one sister, Maryann Riac; two brothers, Barney Kaiping and Donald Kaiping (Carol); sister-in-law Sharon Muzzy; Jean Olsen, Judy Carie and 22 other foster children.

A mass in memory of Kitty will be held at St. Hubert Catholic Church in Langley, Washington

at noon Saturday, Jan. 21, followed by a grave site service and a celebration of Kitty’s long and incredible life at the South Whidbey Senior Center.

Kitty was a loving spirit who touched many lives while living hers with fire, wit and a special generosity that will be missed by all who had the good fortune to know and love her. Please come and help us celebrate her life.

In lieu of flowers please send donation to the South Whidbey Senior Center, where Kitty spent many afternoons dancing with wild abandon and playing her favorite game, bingo.
