Linda Kohlwes Voeller: Sept. 29, 1957 – April 14, 2017

Linda Kohlwes Voeller, age 59, died April 14, in Seattle. Linda was born in Bellingham, Wash., in 1957 to Robert Kohlwes and Karen Bowsher Kohlwes.

Linda was a delightful child and gave us many years of pleasure. When she was three years old, the family — including her younger brother Greg — moved to Whidbey Island. Linda spent her growing-up years on Sunlight Beach and graduated from Langley High School in 1975.

She then moved back to Bellingham to attend college and there met Jim Voeller, who she married in 1977. Linda and Jim had three wonderful children, Jeremy and his twin sisters Kerrie and Erinn. They settled with their family in Kirkland, where Linda ran a successful daycare business for nearly 20 years.

Linda was a breast-cancer survivor, enduring many surgeries, but ultimately was in complete remission.

The last year of her life was a very happy one — she welcomed two granddaughters, born to her girls five weeks apart, and was there for Jeremy’s wedding to Katie last summer at Suncadia Resort. At the time of her death, she was looking forward to the birth of a third granddaughter, Elodie.

Linda is survived by her parents, her brother Greg (Deby), her children Jeremy Voeller (Katie), Kerrie Voeller Scott (Casey) and Erinn Voeller (Tyson Anderson), and also by her granddaughters, Mackenzie and Lilliana along with step-grandson Taelon.

A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday, May 6 at the Useless Bay Golf and Country Club on South Whidbey Island. All who knew and loved Linda are welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to a charity of your choice.
