Michael Worth Knowles perished in a fire on Dec. 30, 2006 in Shoreline.
Mike was born April 12, 1950, in Seattle. He is survived by his daughter Heather; sister Peggy Arnold; brother Brian Knowles; father Vance Knowles; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
Mike served in the Vietnam War, and then went on to beauty school at Mr. Lee’s, then worked at Imagnum’s and opened his own beauty shop in Seattle.
Soon after, Mike moved to Hawaii to work for the Kaanapali Beach Hotel on Maui. Mike moved to Whidbey Island in 1992 when his mother got cancer.
He began to work for Arnold’s Septic for the next 10 years and became a licensed drain-field installer.
Mike enjoyed photography and loved animals. For many years Mike helped maintain our family farm of cows, horses and Mike’s favorite animal, Scarlet, a potbellied pig.
Mike was never one to complain when at times he had many things to complain about. He loved being around his family and was always willing to lend a hand whenever anybody needed it. He will be greatly missed by many.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27 at Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Home in Seattle.
