Norman B. Fillmore

Norman B. Fillmore of Clinton had just celebrated his 100th birthday 12 days earlier when he died peacefully at home on Dec. 20, 2005.

Mr. Fillmore was born on Dec. 8, 1905, in Dorchester, New Brunswick, Canada. He came to the United States in his early 20s to seek his fortune, and lived a long and happy life as a devoted father and husband.

Mr. Fillmore was a Past Grand Master of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge of Stamford, Conn., a deacon of the Baptist Church and a master mechanic.

His wife, Edna Florence Fillmore, died in 2001, and Norman departed this life in happiness knowing that he would soon be with his beloved wife in the presence of his God.

In addition to his daughter Judy Campbell and her husband Frank, with whom he resided for the past seven years, Mr. Fillmore is survived by his son, Norman B. Fillmore Jr. and his wife Joan of Austin, Texas; and his daughter Margaret B. Somerville and her husband Richard of Lake Stevens. He is also survived by a sister, May Amos of New Brunswick, Canada.

Mr. Fillmore left 12 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

Services and burial will take place at Floral Hills Memorial Park in Lynnwood, at 10 a.m. Dec. 28, 2005.
