Patricia Tobiason

Patricia Ann Tobiason, a long-time resident of Whidbey Island, passed away on May 23, 2011 at Hopewell House in Portland, Ore., on her 70th wedding anniversary.

Born on Sept. 10, 1922 to Nette and Ed Lindsey, she went on to travel to many parts of the world with her husband Toby Tobiason throughout his military career before retiring to Whidbey. They both enjoyed the golf club as well as the rod and gun club.

Patty was first a devoted wife and mother. She supported her husband through three wars and kept the “home fires burning.” She managed the family moves for 30 years of her husband’s career.

She was an avid golfer, a competitive bridge player and a great sport in every activity. She loved to entertain and made friends easily throughout her life.

Patty was buried next to her husband at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent.

She is survived by her daughter, son and seven grandchildren.

The immediate family is planning a Celebration of Life at her daughter’s home in Wilsonville. Patty always loved a party!
