Roger Roy Gage: May 7, 1937 – Dec. 25, 2020

Roger Roy Gage passed away at home Christmas evening after a six-month struggle with lung cancer.

He was born in Olympia, Wash., to parents Royal Irwin Gage and Marjorie Eleanor Nunan. His great grandparents, Thomas Nunan and Elizabeth McCrohan, pioneered on Whidbey Island, Wash., arriving in 1858.

He moved with his mother to Oak Harbor, Wash., at age 3 and had a wonderful childhood growing up there.

He joined the Air Force at the age of 19 and spent eight years “seeing the world.” He did a three-year tour in Japan and three years in Spain. In Spain he met the love of his life, Susan Roy, who was also stationed in Spain with her military family. They were married in Spain in August 1963 and returned to the states.

Roger is survived by his wife Susan; two children, David Gage (Rhonda), and Shereen Nethery (Jeff); five grandchildren, Joel Nethery (Valerie), Justin Gage (Lauren), Beth Drane (Thomas), Jon Gage (Lauran), and Jennifer Nethery; and four great grandchildren, Claire and Abby Gage, Greyson Nethery and Arya Drane.

He was so loved and such a kind man, he will be forever missed.
