Sheila Gardiner: May 23, 1946 – April 19, 2023

Sheila bounded into this world in Rawlins, Wyoming on May 23, 1946 as the second daughter of Richard and Edna Holt. She joined her older sister Christa and older brothers John and Howard as the baby of the family to make their family complete. She departed this world on April 19, 2023 after two and a half years courageously enduring lung cancer.

Sheila met her future husband, Larry Gardiner in Roswell, New Mexico. They were married 57 years. The first 20 years Sheila was an exemplary Navy wife (the toughest job in the Navy) while raising three children: Eric, Mark, and Leslie and completing a Masters Degree in Special Education. Sheila had a passion for helping students with special needs and taught special education in Oak Harbor and Marysville for 15 years and later as a principal in Everett at View Ridge elementary school for 10 years. After retirement, she was blessed with 3 grandchildren; Bodhi, Cam and Asha and had the opportunity to serve as a mentor / student teacher supervisor for two universities.

Sheila’s life of service has left an incredible mark on all who were guided by her influence. Sheila is greatly loved, missed and

remembered.
