Steve A. Dargitz, 61, passed away suddenly on Oct. 28, 2007.
Steve was born April 30, 1946 in Woodinville and he was raised in the Everett and Seattle area.
He entered the Navy in 1963, and proudly served until his honorable discharge in 1969. He also served in the honor guard for President Kennedy’s funeral.
Steve met and married Cheryl Blair, wife of 33 years, in 1968. They raised two wonderful children, daughter, Brenda and son, Duane.
Steve was employed in the lumber industry for 30 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 141 and Teamsters Local 174.
Steve enjoyed working on his landscaping projects, and especially enjoyed nature, wildlife books and helping to raise peacocks, ducks and feeding the local wild bird population with his son.
Steve was a loving father and grandfather, and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Brenda; sons, Duane (Cassandra) and Dave (Marilyn); sisters, Nancy (Denny) Chambers, Marty (Bob) Pearson, Dyan (Carl) Westvang, Kim (Wendy) Seavy, and Cindy (Clyde) Roberson; grandsons, Donald, Curtis, David, Harley, Juilo and CJ; granddaughters, Kaylee, Serenity and Gracie; and numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves his constant, faithful canine companion, Sturgis. His parents, Doris Zimmerman and Ralph Dargitz, preceded Steve in death.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4 at American Legion Post 141 in Langley.
A reception will follow at the home of Duane and Cassandra Dargitz, 7140 Linda Lane, Clinton.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials are made to Good Cheer or Hearts & Hammers in Langley.
