Urban Edward Moore

Urban Edward Moore, born April 4, 1914, in Bellingham, passed away Nov. 8 in Lynnwood at the age of 92.

His parents were Roy and Lillian Moore. He married Elsie Knittel in Bellingham in 1939 and raised three children.

Urban spent four years in the Navy after graduating from Fairhaven High School in Bellingham in 1932. He had charge of the carburetor and engine overhaul shops at Naval Air Station Seattle (Sand Point) during World War II, then later moved to Pendleton, Ore., where he was associated with the Pendleton Grain Growers in farm machinery sales and manager of the hardware department for 25 years.

He retired in 1976 and moved back to northwest Washington, living in Langley for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years; daughters Linda Lewis and husband Karl of Everett; Diana Porter and her husband Ray of Pendleton, Ore.; and son Tom Moore and his wife Teresa. Also surviving are four grandsons and two granddaughters, five great-grandsons, two-great granddaugh ters and one sister, Beatrice McDonald, of Bellingham.

Following cremation, a private family memorial will be held soon.
