Falcon softball advances to district championship

South Whidbey softball beat Mount Baker 3-0 in the first round of the class 1A District 1 softball tournament on Thursday, May 18 at Janicki Fields in Sedro-Woolley.

Junior pitcher Mackenzee Collins threw 16 strikeouts while yielding four hits and no runs. She also went 3-for-3 at the plate.

The Falcons (11-10 overall) play Lynden Christian (11-10 overall) in the championship game at 2 p.m. today. The winner advances to state, while the loser plays in a state-or-go-home game later this afternoon.
