Falcons cruise by Wolverines / Tennis

The South Whidbey High School tennis team received little resistance at Friday Harbor Wednesday, May 1, while defeating the Wolverines 5-0.

The Falcons dominated each match, winning all in straight sets.

The contest wrapped up the regular season for South Whidbey (6-1, 6-4), which tied King’s for first place in the North Sound Conference.

Friday Harbor dropped to 0-6.

The North Sound Conference/District 1 Tournament is noon on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 7 and 8, in Granite Falls.

Singles: 1, Ashely Ricketts won 6-2, 6-1; 2, Oliana Stange won 6-0, 6-1.

Doubles: 1, Mary Zisette/Alison Papritz won 6-1, 6-0; 2, Ainsley Nelson/Farriss Jokinen won 6-0, 6-1; 3, Erin Brewer/Elizabeth Simmons won 6-0, 4-1.

Exhibition: Jenna Pheiffer/Annika LeWarne won 8-1; Chloe Loehr/McKenna Kelley won 6-5.
