Falcons cruise over Chimacum / Soccer

Chimacum offered little resistance as the South Whidbey High School soccer team rolled by the visiting Cowboys 15-0 Thursday, March 14.

“I can’t recall working this hard to keep a score down,” coach Emerson Robbins said. “After taking an early lead, I moved all of our players around. We had players playing positions that they had never played before.

“We required the team to pass the ball five times before shooting and then increased that to seven times by the second half.

“We all felt badly for the Chimacum team, but other than pull players off the field and play with less players or just play keep-away with no scoring allowed, we had no other answers.

“The Chimacum team and coach displayed good sportsmanship in spite of the lopsided score.”

Nine different Falcons scored in the match.
