Falcons fall to U Prep / Tennis

It was a day of firsts for the South Whidbey High School tennis team in a 4-1 loss to host University Prep Saturday, March 16.

The match was the first of the season for the Falcons and the first time some had played indoors (Tennis Center at Sandpoint in North Seattle).

“Overall good day,” South Whidbey coach Karyle Kramer said. “The girls played well overall for their first match. University Prep is traditionally a tough team, and this year is no exception.”

The Falcons picked up their team point in first singles where Mary Zisette came from behind to win 6-7 (3-7), 6-4, 6-4.

South Whidbey travels to Oak Harbor (0-1) at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, to face the Wildcats in make-up match for a contest that was rained out last week.
