Falcons participate in Everett Invitational / Boys golf

In a field of large schools, the South Whidbey High School boys golf team placed eighth out of eight teams at the Everett Invitational Thursday, March 21.

The Falcons were the only 1A team in the tournament; the others were 3A and above.

Everett won with 366 strokes, trailed by Glacier Peak (373), Ferndale (394), Oak Harbor (410), Mount Vernon (419), Jackson (422), Lake Stevens (426) and South Whidbey (491).

The Falcons’ Gabe Jacobson-Ross fired an 82, Dane Saxton shot 98, Lewis Mattson 99, Soren Bratrude 103, Brent de Wolf 109 and Kellen Eager 114.

Glacier Peak’s Tyler Spalti carded a 67 to earn medalist honors.

The Falcons will return to Everett to play in the Dolan Invitational at the Everett Golf and Country Club at 1 p.m. Monday, April 8.
