Falcons suffer 1st loss / Baseball

King’s rallied for five runs in the fifth inning and dealt the visiting South Whidbey High School baseball team its first loss of the season 6-2 Wednesday, March 27.

The two teams will play the rubber match of their three-game series at 4 p.m. Friday, March 29, in Langley.

The Falcons held a 2-1 lead, then the Knights (1-1, 2-5) used two hits, two errors, a walk and passed ball to plate five runs in the fifth.

South Whidbey (1-1, 7-1) scored a run in the second inning on two errors and Nick Young’s single.

Nick Black singled and Alex Black doubled for the Falcons’ second run in the fifth inning.

Alex Black finished with three hits; Drew Fry, Kody Newman, Young and Nick Black added base hits.
