Falcons take 6th at Everett Invitational / Boys golf

The South Whidbey High School boys golf team shot its way to a sixth-place finish in the eight-team Everett Invitational Thursday, March 29, at the Legion Golf Course.

The Falcons trailed two 4A schools and three 3A schools in the team standings and finished ahead of the only other 1A school to compete, Archbishop Murphy.

Ryan Wenzek carded a 78 for South Whidbey, while Gabe Jacobson-Ross shot 79, Soren Bratrude 95, Brent DeWolf 98, Noah Ratcliff 111 and Matthew Dixon 133.

Everett took the team title with a 366, trailed by Jackson (403), Oak Harbor (414), Mount Vernon (419), Shorewood (460), South Whidbey (461), Archbishop Murphy (525) and Stanwood (DNQ).

South Whidbey will host Glacier Peak and Marysville Getchell at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 12.
