Free firearm safety class set for Saturday on Whidbey

A firearm safety for women is planned for Saturday morning.

A firearm safety for women is planned for Saturday morning.

Guns will be provided for the training session that is expected to last four hours, starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 2 at the Central Whidbey Sportsman’s Association clubhouse in Coupeville.

The class will cover skills to safely handle a firearm. There will also be some time at the shooting range for students to use the firearm lessons. Instructors are retired law enforcement officers and veteran firearm safety teachers. Organizers said participants should bring a lunch to the free class.
