Girls swimmers to compete at districts

All three of South Whidbey’s girls swimmers qualified for the class 1A/2A District finals on Nov. 3 and Nov. 4 in Anacortes.

Senior Ally Lynch, freshmen Ashley Lynch and Katie Zundel will all be competing in multiple events. Ally Lynch, a returning state participant, qualified in the 100-yard breaststroke and 500-yard breaststroke with qualifying times of 1:18 and 6:43, respectively.

Ashley Lynch, Ally’s sister, is competing in the 100-yard backstroke and 100-yard freestyle. Her qualifying times were 1:11 and 1:03, respectively.

Zundel will also be in the 100-yard backstroke, as well as the 100-yard butterfly. She qualified with times of 1:15 and 1:16, respectively.

State qualifiers will be determined at the meet. In 2016, Lynch made it to state as a wildcard, where her times were among the top 24 in the state.
