Pope named state athlete of the week

South Whidbey senior Lewis Pope was recently named to a state “Athletes of the Week” list for his stellar play in two recent games.

Pope scored 25 points and added seven rebounds and three steals in the Falcons’ road victory over Cedar Park Christian (Bothell) on Jan. 2. He followed that with a 40-point performance against Granite Falls on Jan. 5. He also added six rebounds, four assists and three steals.

Pope was included in the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association’s Athletes of the Week list for (Dec. 31, 2017-Jan. 6, 2018).
