“Tutors, mentors being recruited”

“The South Whidbey Tutor/Mentor Program is recruiting volunteers for the new school year.If you have a strong belief in youth and their abilities, if you are a positive role model, enthusiastic, and have a sense of humor, and are able to commit to one or two hours a week, please come to an orientation meeting set for Sept. 19 from 5:30-7 p.m.The meeting will be held at South Whidbey Youth Center in Langley, at Third and Anthes, in the basement of Langley United Methodist Church. The program matches students in middle school with caring individuals who provide a special encouraging relationship and homework support. For information, contact Kathy Hein at 221-5100 ext. 3108. “
