Paul Skinner

Paul McDonald Skinner, 90, passed away Nov. 2, 2005, at his home in Freeland.
He was born Feb. 22, 1915, in Urbana, Ill., a son of Arthur M. and Bessie M. Skinner.
He married Ruth E. Hamlin Sept. 18, 1936, in Chicago, Ill. Ruth preceded him in death in 2000.
Mr. Skinner was a retired lieutenant colonel serving in the U.S. Air Force. After retirement from the Air Force, he taught school for three years.
He was a member of the Retired Officer Association, NRA, and 8th Air Force Historical Society.
The Skinners moved from Spokane. to Whidbey Island 30 years ago. Mr. Skinner was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeland.
He is survived by one daughter, Karen (Michael) Kirshner; one sister, Betty Skinner; three grandchildren, Mark Krishner, Corinne Logan, and Kerri Kirshner; and seven great-grandchildren, Chelsea Franson, Dakota and Evan Logan, Isaac, Isabella, Lily and Benjamin Paul Kirshner.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeland. Internment will be in Arlington National Cemetery.
