Kelly Michelle Frantz

Kelly and her twin, Danielle were born in Seattle at Swedish Medical Center on July 11, 1989 at 1:52 and 2 a.m. Kelly was the younger of the twins but only by eight minutes and Danielle never let her forget that she was the oldest.

She has lived all of her 16 years on Whidbey Island. She was creative, funny and imaginative. Kelly made an impression on everyone she met. If you met Kelly, you’d never forget her. She was an outrageous character. She attended South Whidbey Elementary, Langley Middle School and Bayview High School.

She spent many summers at Martha Murphy’s Whidbey Children’s Theatre with her sister Danielle making people laugh with her improvisational comedy routines. She loved swimming at Goss Lake and hanging out with her friends. She was also an avid 4H member and loved showing her beloved goat, Tyke, and her champion guinea pig, Big Boy. Her passion was drawing clothing, cartoons and people, her imagination was limitless. She had an outrageous sense of humor that kept her mother laughing and still does.

On March 13, 2006 she was taken tragically from us way too early in her young life for reasons we may never understand. Kelly will be missed for so many reasons including her immense love for her family and friends, her love of animals (the fatter and fluffier the better), her outrageous sense of humor and fantastic imagination and creativity. The world will surely miss her amazing talent for drawing and her ambition for becoming a fashion designer. Sadly, we will never know how far she could have taken that talent. Kelly touched so many lives during her much too short time here with us. We will miss her every day for the rest of our lives. She is survived by her mother and father, Amy and Tony Frantz; her twin sister, Danielle and her fat cat, Bart.

Her funeral service is being held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 18, at the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Langley. Graveside services for the family will follow at Langley Cemetery. Family only reception at Frantz home to follow.
