Clarence W. Bauer

Clarence “Clair” Bauer passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday June 21, 2006 at his home on Whidbey Island in Freeland.
Clair was born on Aug. 21, 1935, the only child of Carl and Gladys Bauer.
Clair was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn and his parents. He is survived by son David J. (Mary) Bauer, son, Ronny D. (Connie) Bauer, Laurie K. (Russ) Somers and his grandchildren, Kanae, Katie, Brandon, Michelle and Austin.
Clair was an active member of the Nile Shrine Center. He was actively involved in the South Whidbey Shrine Club where he participated as secretary in 2005 and 2006. He was an enthusiastic member as a Nile Temple Guard. He has held positions as the past president of the Hospital Supply Corps, past president of South Whidbey Shrine Club and past director of the Royal Order of Jesters.
After many years of working in the bakery and food distribution business, he retired to Whidbey Island to care for his many animals.
Clair was involved in many activities both on and off the island and has many friends and extended family that will miss him dearly.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 17 at Nile Shrine Center.
Following the service, there will be a gathering at the home of Clair’s Niece, Carrie Hathaway, in Shoreline.
A Celebration of Life and dinner for Clair Bauer will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 18 at the M-BAR-C Ranch/Forgotten Children.
There will be a dedication of the “Clarence Bauer Riding Arena.” Please RSVP to Taylor at 331-1691.
