Wilma J. Glattfelder was born in Atchison, Kansas April 10, 1905. She went home to be with the Lord on July 5, 2006.
Wilma is survived by her youngest sibling Virginia (Genna) of California; her son, Jerry, of California; and her daughters June of Washington and Marie of California. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; David W., Kathy C. Deborajean S., Dwayne W., Mikal G., Kenneth W. and J.J. G.; she was also a very special step-grandmother to Eirean C. She has six great-grandchildren; William S., Kyle S., Sarah C., Dreauna S., Gabrielle C., and Michael C.
Wilma was a longtime resident of Whidbey Island where she lived on Mutiny Bay. She loved to watch the ships and boats that would go past her home. She would often walk down to the beach with her grandkids or great-grandkids to search for shells and other hidden treasures. She was a member of the Fun Band (she played kazoo) and was an active member of the Senior Center in Bayview. Wilma was also very active in the Rebecca Lodge.
She was a woman who loved children and had more patience and understanding for them in her little finger alone than most people have in their whole bodies. She has touched many lives in her 101 years and we will miss her, but she will remain forever in our hearts and thoughts. Good-bye for now. With love, your family.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 12 at Evergreen-Washelli Cemetery, 11111 Aurora Ave., Seattle.
