Dorothy A. MacArthur

Dorothy A. MacArthur was born Feb. 8, 1914 and passed away on Dec. 27, 2006 at Regency Harbor Care in Oak Harbor.
She was born in Helena, Mont. and moved to Washington in the 1940s.
Dorothy held degrees from Montana State University and the University of Washington. She spent her working years, first with the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, then as a King County Social Worker, and finally as a teacher in the Seattle Public School System until her retirement 22 years ago.
She was a longtime resident of Seattle and moved to Oak Harbor in 2004 to be closer to her daughter, Sally Waters. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Leigh MacArthur, and her parents, Victor and Ada d’Autremont. She is survived by her daughters, Anne MacArthur of Washington, D.C., and Sally (husband Bill) of Anacortes.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Skagit Hospice Foundation or the University of Washington Center for Urban Horticulture.
