DonnaLee Nelson, born DonnaLee Arbogast (Johnson) on Oct. 14, 1961, passed away from natural causes March 5, 2009 while visiting in Palm Springs, Calif.

DonnaLee was born at Tacoma General Hospital and grew up in her family home in Parkland. DonnaLee was the second of three daughters born to Donald and Carolyn Arbogast.

DonnaLee is survived by her loving husband Richard G. Nelson; parents, Donald Lee and Carolyn Arbogast; her two lovely daughters, Krystle and Brittney Johnson; and sisters, Autumn Arbogast and Anne Kinsey.

DonnaLee was loving, vivacious and social, while living her life to its fullest.

DonnaLee was active in fundraising for the Breast Cancer Society and for local battered women’s shelters. DonnaLee spent many years living in the Mukilteo area before moving to her husband’s family home on Whidbey Island.

DonnaLee was very active with the Whidbey Island American Legion.

Church services for DonnaLee will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 20 at her family church, Temple Baptist Church, located at 1108 Columbia Ave., Fircrest.

A DonnaLee celebration of life event will be held Saturday, March 28 at the American Legion on Highway 525.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions for local charities that DonnaLee participated with be made C/O Richard Nelson and addressed to DonnaLee’s Memorial Fund, PO Box 1602, Coupeville, WA 98239.
