Patricia Irene Waskey Nye was born April 26, 1939 in Cali, Columbia, South America, to Robert R. and Chloris I. Waskey. Pat — as she was called — was born into God’s family in the spring of 1955 and entered into the presence of her dear Lord and savior on Sept. 16, 2009 from kidney failure and heart problems. For 37 years she battled diabetes and high blood pressure, and for the past eight years had been on dialysis with ESRD.

Her parents Robert R. and Chloris I. Waskey preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, friend and companion of 52 years and three months, James K. (Jim); two wonderful sons, Randy and wife Lori of Normandy Park, Dave and wife Tonya of Lake Stevens; two precious granddaughters Amy and Jenna; various nieces, nephews, cousins, her special friend Carole from high school days, Jean, Carol and Ken, her traveling companions from motor home days, and many others who have meant so much to her through the years.

Pat had attended college, and served as a pastor’s wife. Pat enjoyed being a foster mom to many girls, and using her great musical abilities for the Lord. After her husband retired from the ministry and her boys grown, she then started her own business. How greatly she loved to have family gatherings, with great food, plenty of pies and lots of fun. What a joyous and contagious laughter she brought to these occasions.

When the last of the businesses sold in 1997, as her health began to fail, she and her husband, and often Ken and Carol, took great delight in motor trips. Due to health problems in 2003, she and her husband moved in with Randy and his family, where she happily remained until, with her husband by her side, she made her trip home to heaven to be with the Lord she loved and served.
