State wants too many details | LETTER TO THE EDITOR

To the editor:

In order to obtain a Washington state fishing or hunting license, an applicant must provide to a clerk: Social Security number, date of birth, credit-card number (if applying by Internet or mail) and address.

This is a perfect setup for creating identity theft.
