To the editor:

I read your article on beach wheelchair. We have a similar beach wheelchair with a seat overlay that is higher in the back for head support. We bought it eight years ago and use it at Maxwelton Beach, which has easy access. I too was not willing to give up walking on the beach with our daughter Raina, who has cerebral palsy.

We have used it around our home on snowy days to play outside and at Crater Lake to get from the rim to the lake (two people pulled on the way back up), and it was great fun. We have lived on Campbell Road, Clinton for over 30 years.

I hope more folks can get to the beach. I have offered people the loan of our beach wheelchair, but never had any takers.
