Student leads the way to stop bullying at South Whidbey High School | NOTABLE

South Whidbey High School freshman Ariana Abrahams used her leadership project to run an anti-bullying contest within the high school.

Abrahams wanted to encourage students to stand against bullying and felt her leadership project was a great opportunity to promote awareness.

As part of her project, she put up posters and flyers for students to enter the contest, had it announced in the school morning bulletin and went to a few classrooms to share the contest information.

Abrahams gathered donations from Langley and Clinton businesses and put them in gift baskets for first, second and third place.

Abrahams hopes the project will run each year, promoting anti-bullying and creating new ideas for students to focus on. She encourages all involved to continue helping others in spreading the word about bullying and how everyone can set examples by awareness education.

Abrahams thanks South Whidbey High School staff, students, friends, families and community businesses including: Northbay Company, South Whidbey Commons, Village Pizzeria, The Clyde Theater, Sassy Siren, Island Dance, Whidbey Cupcakes, The Goose, The Star Store, Workwear Jeans N Things and Langley Bakery.
