Whidbey Island Center for the Arts announces shows, auditions

Whidbey Island Center for the Arts announces audition dates for the 2012-13 Theatre Series. WICA will hold auditions at WICA, 565 Camano Ave., Langley on Monday, Aug. 13 and Tuesday, Aug. 14.

Audition slots are five minutes; be prepared with a monologue or be prepared to read from the scripts. For musical auditions, prepare 16 bars of music and bring sheet music and an accompanist or a CD to the audition.

The 2012-2013 Theatre Season includes: Steven Dietz’s “Becky’s New Car,” directed by Deana A. Duncan in October; Leslie Bricusse’s “Scrooge, The Musical,” directed by Tristan A.B. Steel in December; Beth Henley’s “Crimes of the Heart,” directed by Rose Woods in February; Terrence McNally’s “The Full Monty,” directed by Elizabeth Herbert in April; and Alan Ayckbourn’s “The Norman Conquests,” directed by Andrew Grenier in June.
