Training for Beach Watchers in Island County deadline nears

Applications for WSU Island County Beach Watchers Training are now being accepted for the 2013 training course.
Beach Watchers are trained volunteers dedicated to protecting and preserving the marine environment through research, educational outreach and stewardship.
The training course takes place two days a week in April and October. It involves both in-class sessions and field trips addressing topics such as coastal geology, native plants and animals, salmon and near shore habitats, forestry, intertidal beach monitoring, and much more.
