A three-run home run by Ricky Muzzy boosted South Whidbey baseball against its island rival Coupeville on March 29.
The Falcons won 8-5 and avoided a three-game series sweep to their rivals, the Wolves.
Muzzy was instrumental with a 4-for-5 day at the plate. Nick Bennett, a junior, and CJ Sutfin each added a double.
Sutfin tallied the win on the mound, pitching three innings. Colton Sterba relieved him in the fourth.
South Whidbey (3-4 Cascade Conference; 3-4 overall) improved its chances of a .500 season with the victory and staved off the bottom rungs of the Cascade Conference.
