LETTER TO THE EDITOR | Plant sale grows South Whidbey community

To the editor:

Success happens because of several reasons: quality plants grown from club member gardens, contributions from the community, and shoppers like you.

We wish to recognize and thank the following businesses for donating plants and garden related items to our 2013 Spring Plant Sale:

Wild Birds Unlimited, Sebos Do-It Center, Goosefoot, Cultus Bay Nursery, Ace Hardware, Landshapers, Chocolate Flower Farm, Good Cheer, Forget Me Not Farms, Glynneden Gardens, Skagit Farmers Supply, Whidbey Topsoil, Meerkerk Rhododendron Gardens, Kirk’s Nursery and Garden, Island Bamboo, Whidbey Horticulture, Blue Star Rockery, Bayview Farm and Garden, Swede Hill Dahlia Sunflower, Stonehenge Gardens and Nursery and Vee-Gardens. Also, special thanks goes to Peter VanGiesen for designing and constructing three potting tables.

From our plant sale profits, over $15,000 has been awarded to groups and organizations since 2008. This money has helped fund horticultural beautification projects and educational programs throughout South Whidbey.

South Whidbey Garden Club would like to give a big thank you for your continued support, participation and generosity.

You have helped make our community an even more wonderful place to live. Hope to see you next spring!
