LETTER TO THE EDITOR | No prayer for Island County commissioners

To the editor:

Business meetings of the Island County Board of Commissioners are not church meetings and it is totally inappropriate to “begin with a dash of the divine.”

John F. Kennedy said, “I believe in an America where the separation of church and state is absolute.”

Let us keep it that way and avoid prayers and invocations of any sort in government affairs.
