Editor,

In the Jan. 9 front page article regarding the redesigning of Clinton, the hired consultant is quoted as saying “If you’re needing dental services or clothing you’re not going to find it on the island.” That statement is down right untrue and discouraging. Why are they paying him?

He has obviously done very little research. There are very fine dentists in all of the towns on the South End of the island. As for the clothing, in Langley alone, there are five wonderful clothing stores, all with great style and very competitive prices and wonderful service. We have many people coming here as a destination just to buy clothing. They come from Seattle, Renton, the “east side” cities, Mukilteo and everywhere in between.

Our local Whidbey customers are wonderfully supportive and we love them. Some of our stores have been here many years and some are new and very exciting.
