The South Whidbey High School boys cross country team finished the regular season with a 20-40 win at King’s Thursday, Oct. 17.

The Falcon girls fell to the Knights 22-33.

Both the boys and girls ran the 2.4-mile course at the same time.

King’s Nick LeBar won in 12:48, nipping the Falcons’ Mike Harwell, who registered the same time, at the finish line.

The next four across the line were all from South Whidbey and came in as a group: Thomas Simms (third, 13:23), Cooper Ullmann (fourth, 13:24), Reilly McVay (fifth, 13:24) and Aidan Donnelly (sixth, 13:24).

The Knights’ Naomi Smith recorded the best girls time, 13:44.

Kaia Swegler Richmond of South Whidbey placed second (15:02), while Grace Huffman (17:25), Flannery Friedman (17:26) and Jasmin Graner (17:27) went 6-7-8, and Natalie Rodriguez placed 10th (18:16).

The Falcons head to Lakewood for the North Sound Conference Championships at 11:15 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26.
