Eagles Aeries donates $20,600 to Whidbey nonprofits

In the tradition of “People Helping People,” the official motto of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the organization awarded big sums to 17 charities and five nonprofits last Saturday.

The local charities and nonprofits received a total of $20,600, distributed in ranges from $500 to $3,000 each.

Some of these organizations included WAIF, Whidbey Island Nourishes, the South Whidbey Homeless Coalition, the HUB Youth Center, Good Cheer Food Bank and more.

Most of the funds donated to the charities and nonprofits comes from the annual Eagles Plant Sale, happening in May.
