Letter: Towers has knowledge, experience for South Whidbey Fire Board

As former South Whidbey Fire/EMS Commissioners, we are proud to endorse Jim Towers for the position of fire commissioner.

Jim Towers has served the community of South Whidbey with distinction for over 35 years as a firefighter, EMT and station commander. He has worked to develop successful policies and procedures within the department during that time.

The executive position of a commissioner requires experience and knowledge in policy development and financial oversight. As a professional engineer, Jim has served on management teams, executive boards, and has a solid understanding of fiscal responsibility, making him well qualified for the role of a commissioner within this organization.

His professional and management knowledge, as well as his experience in the day-to-day operations of our fire district, gives Jim an institutional knowledge that makes him well equipped to immediately and effectively fulfill the role of commissioner. This will be vital in the upcoming year as the commissioners make critical decisions for the department, including that of hiring a new fire chief.

For these reasons, we are proud to endorse and support Jim Towers for the position of South Whidbey Fire/EMS Fire Commissioner.
