Letter: Shavers has right background to represent 10th

Voters in the 10th Legislative District have an opportunity to send an outstanding candidate to the Washington State House of Representatives. Clyde Shavers, a U.S. Naval Academy graduate and Navy veteran, is running as the Democratic candidate for the 10th District, Position 1 against the Republican incumbent. I urge voters to support Clyde in the Aug. 2 primary and Nov. 8 general election.

Clyde comes from a family dedicated to public service. Since completing eight years of active duty with the U.S. Navy, Clyde graduated from Yale Law School and has held volunteer positions with organizations dedicated to environmental protection, veteran resources, and affordable housing – all issues of particular interest to our district. His experience and education are well-suited for addressing problems facing our community.
