On Saturday April 25, the Clyde Theatre will be holding a private screening of “Earth’s Greatest Enemy,” a documentary exposé of the world’s biggest — and most unaccountable — polluter: the U.S. military, according to a press release.
Hosted by the Sound Defense Alliance and co-sponsored by Solidarity with Palestine on Whidbey and Kicking Gas, this screening is open to the public to attend.
The film delves into the extreme environmental damage the U.S. military is causing our planet and touches on areas including Gaza and even Whidbey Island.
Combining investigative journalism, striking visuals and stories from impacted communities, the film challenges audiences to rethink the hidden costs of a global military empire and its planetary consequences.
“Provocative, urgent and eye-opening, this is a documentary that will change how you see both the military and environmentalism,” the press releases states.
The film will be followed by a 45-minute live Q&A session with the director, Abby Martin, who will join virtually.
Doors open at 1 p.m. and the film runs from 2-4 p.m. The Q&A is planned for 4:15-5 p.m. The Clyde Theatre is located at 217 1st Street in Langley. Subtitles will be included for this screening.
Tickets are $10 and proceeds will support the Sound Defense Alliance’s work to advocate against Navy EA-18G Growler jet impacts to our communities, wildlife and environment in Northwest Washington.
