Langley was one of just 25 towns nationwide to receive a T-Mobile Hometown Grant, according to a press release.
The $50,000 investment will fund renovations to the second level of nonprofit Good Cheer’s Langley Thrift Store into a vibrant, multi-purpose community hub, combining flexible gathering spaces and co-working stations, to foster creativity, collaboration and stronger community relationships.
The project was submitted by South Whidbey Good Cheer, a nonprofit on a mission to create a hunger-free Whidbey Island, serving families, seniors, students, artists, farmers, veterans and everyone in need.
The nonprofit’s store team has been preparing the space for construction to begin as soon as possible and is grateful from the support of other area nonprofits including the Whidbey Community Foundation, the Langley Chamber of Commerce, Langley’s Main Street Association, the Sno-Isle Library, and community members to help move the vision forward.
This latest award brings T-Mobile’s total investment in Washington to nearly $800,000 across 17 communities — all aimed at jumpstarting local development and small-town revitalization.
Since 2021, T-Mobile has provided over $21.5 million to 475 communities across 49 states and Puerto Rico.
