To the editor:

Let’s hope that the nitwits who exercised their Second Amendment rights at the expense of two red-tailed hawks’ lives (“Red-tailed hawks shot on Whidbey,” Feb. 6) manage to find some more benign means of amusement.

What a sad story, and what a sad comment on America’s gun culture.
