LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Tax proposals are becoming ludicrous

To the editor:

Correct me if I am wrong, folks, but has everyone out there gone CRAZY?!

A pool levy that will cost a lot more than $5 a month for most property owners. A new port for boaters, a private utility district and a number of new deputies for our sheriff’s department.

The economy the way it is, the uncertainty of our futures, the threat of financial ruin across our country are all at the forefront today. The fact that one or another special interest group in this community believes this is the time or place to ask for multiples of millions of dollars from the property owners of Island County is ludicrous!

When will the buck stop?

At the polls!

Join me and vote no on all of these property tax levies that

I am sure will tax more than one Whidbey Island property owner out of their property, and home.
