To the editor:
The event committee would like to express their appreciation for the wonderful support we received for our 13th Relay For Life of South Whidbey.
We would like to thank those that helped advertise this event: the Whidbey Examiner for consistently providing us with advertising space for our primary events, the Whidbey Marketplace & News with a fabulous front page announcement; WhidbeyDaily.net for our on-line advertising; Creative Advertising Solutions for designing the graphics on our coffee label, display ads, garage sale poster, and rack card; Interstate Label Co. for printing our coffee labels; Sound Business Center for printing posters, signs, and just about everything in-between; and the Clinton Foodmart (who also provided us with orange juice); Dalton’s Realty, the American Legion, and Coldwell Banker Tara Properties for generously allowing us use of their reader boards to advertise Relay events.
Relay wouldn’t be relay without food honoring our survivors and nourishing our participants.
Thank you to Cafe Langley; China City (who also helped cook, loaned us tableware, etc.); the Edgecliff Bar & Grill; JW Desserts; the Inn at Langley; Ivar’s of Mulkiteo (who has provided clam chowder year-after-year); Good Cheer Food Bank and Thrift Store; Mike’s Place Family Restaurant; Mukilteo Coffee (who also provided us with coffee at a discounted price to resell as a primary fund raiser), Prima Bistro, Payless Foods, and Wells Fargo Home Mortgage.
Our deep appreciation to the Lion’s Club and the Soroptimists for their kitchen help with serving and cleaning up, and to Jim Freeman, Matt Schmiesing, and the Shifty Sailors for our entertainment.
Thank you to our sponsors: Brown Associates, George and Tonya Henny, Greenbank Farm, Konda Jack, Maple Ridge Assisted Living, Randle Masonry, Shorey Construction, The Schuster Foundation, Porter Whidbey Insurance, Puget Sound Energy, South Whidbey High School, South Whidbey Rotary, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, Wells Fargo Bank, Westcott Flooring, Whidbey General Hospital, Whidbey General Foundation, Whidbey Island Bank, Whidbey Telecom and Whidbey Vision Care.
Relay only happens if there are teams to walk the track and help raise funds. Thank you to each and every one of you that brought your umbrellas and made this event a reality.
Collectivel, Relay For Life of South Whidbey 2009 raised $23,200. Thank you everyone for all of your hard work. Our sincerely apologies if we have missed anyone that helped support this event.
