This weekend’s church services for Sunday, July 19

Mary Knight leads service at Unity

Mary Knight plans to create this week’s Unity worship service with the coordination of Julie Pigott, providing the music, and the welcome assistance of the congregation.

The service begins at 10 a.m. Sunday, July 20 at Bayview Community Hall. All are welcome.

God as life at Sunday service

In times of fear — whether from war, economic strife, illness or some other crisis — is it possible to turn absolutely to divine help for protection as well as comfort? In Christian Science, God is recognized as the source of life and everything that supports that life.

This Sunday, the sermon will address how understanding God as life can make it possible to feel confident in divine prayer in all circumstances. “The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalms 27: 1)

Everyone is welcome.

Services begin at 10:30 a.m. at 2411 E. Highway 525 (across from Useless Bay Road) on South Whidbey.

Series continues Sunday at SWCC

Tomorrow morning at South Whidbey Community Church, Ron Wedeking continues his expository series in Hebrews with “Lessons from Jesus’ Humanity,” based on Heb.2:1-4.

Wedeking is a former pastor and has academic degrees in Biblical history and Greek from Northwest University as well as graduate studies at Regent College.

South Whidbey Community Church intentionally enjoys a wide variety of gifted and educated speakers at each Sunday morning worship service. Both the church and all its speakers adhere to the National Association of Evangelicals Statement of Faith.

Each worship service begins at 10 a.m. and is preceded at 9 a.m. by two adult learning forums: one is a discussion of the Book of Romans, led by Stan Walker; the other a study of Paul’s letter to the Ephesians, led by Jim Craft. And midweek Bible Studies continue in the Gospel of Luke, at 7 p.m. Wednesdays, led by Art Angst at Rick and Dinah Zapata’s home.

South Whidbey Community Church is open to everyone and gathers for worship each Sunday at the Deer Lagoon Grange, 5142 Bayview Road, Langley.

The church is a newly-formed independent, evangelical, non-denominational church.
