Hailstorm hits Clinton, slows traffic on Highway 525

A surprise hailstorm has left Clinton blanketed in ice pellets.

The storm hit about a mile north of Clinton about 1 p.m. Monday, and the vicious hailstorm stretched past Maxwelton Road.

An inch or so of hail has accumulated Highway 525. The storm was slowing traffic on the highway, and one driver reported “huge, huge pieces of hail” falling.

Rain mixed with snow was reported north of Bayview.
